Lexington, Kentucky, February 20, 2025 – Colonel Kevin Bullock, President, announced today – the Honorable Order of Kentucky Colonels has granted a charter for the newly established Lexington, KY chapter. We believe that there are many Kentucky Colonels who have yet to become actively involved in the Honorable Order of Kentucky Colonels and or participate in a local chapter, presenting a great opportunity for engagement and fellowship. The local Lexington chapter has been established to assist in bringing these colonels together in support of the orders Good Works Program more locally in and around the Lexington area and to share in camaraderie.
“The commission of Kentucky Colonel is the highest title of honor bestowed by the Governor of Kentucky. It is recognition of an individual’s noteworthy accomplishments and outstanding service to our community, state and nation.”
To date, over 8,000 Grants have been distributed to charitable and educational agencies across Kentucky. For the last dozen years, the Kentucky Colonels board of trustees has distributed approximately 2.3 million dollars each year, impacting the lives of more than 3.9 million people in and around Kentucky.
Since 1951, the Honorable Order of Kentucky Colonels has granted $68 million through over 8900 grants. These grants are entirely dependent on the support of over 30,000 active Colonels throughout the world, who have chosen to continue their charitable efforts through contributions to help Kentuckians.
